Gene Doll Clothes -
Theater Costumes for Gene Fashion Dolls
.com Presents:
Gene's Costume - Act II from "The Importance of Being Earnest"
Gene takes her bows as a very lovely Gwendolen in this beautiful costume - just right for Victorian England and "The Importance of Being Earnest".
A replica of this costume is available in a Limited Edition of 10. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. This ensemble was designed by Barbara Steinberg then made for DOLL FASHIONS UNLIMITED in the USA.
Gene's costume is a soft blue linen afternoon dress with matching capelet (we've used a linen-look fabric for our replica). The dress has leg 'o mutton sleeves and a center tuck on the bodice front; both are trimmed with pink braid. A pink cameo nestles below the high ruffled white collar. The bodice is lined and closes in back with snaps.
The fashionable flared skirt, slightly fuller in back, ends in a band of soft pink linen and then an elegant blue pleated ruffle. Underneath Gene is wearing a white organdy petticoat eged with a ruffle plus pink slip-on heels.
In the Second Act, Gene wears a matching blue linen capelet over her dress; it's lined in pink linen and trimmed with more pink braid. A tiny hook and loop closes the capelet at the neckline. The crowning glory is her hat - it's a pure confection of pale pink satin, sheer ruffles, satin ribbon and tiny pink flowers. (Hat pin included). For a closer look at Gwendolen's dress under the capelet and her hat click on doll.
A final touch is the pink suede bag with a delicate gold chain handle. Outfit will arrive on a Gene sized wire hanger!

"Stage Door Johnny" - The Cat
$10.00
This cat arrived at the theater one June morning and
immediately claimed Gene as his! Named "Stage Door Johnny"
by everyone, he created a part for himself on Opening Night
when he settled himself in one of the drawing chairs on stage
just as the curtain lifted. When Gene entered he stayed at
her side through the curtain calls!
